New Direction for GEPL
19 July 2017
GEPL’s Chief Executive Officer, Mel Wharton, has left to pursue new opportunities.
Ms Wharton made the decision to finish up her role with GEPL effective this week in consultation with the Board.
Chair, Darren Inje, said during her time at the helm of GEPL, Ms Wharton had played a key role in stabilising the business, introduced a rigorous financial control system and developed a strategic plan to ensure a strong and sustainable future for the organisation.
“The Board thanks Ms Wharton for her contribution and we wish her well in her future endeavours,” he said.
Mr Inje said GEPL Board Member, Bart Boelen, would fill the role of Acting Managing Director until an Interim Chief Executive Officer was appointed at the end of the month.
He said a comprehensive recruitment process would then commence for a new, permanent Chief Executive Officer.
“It’s an exciting time for GEPL as we progressively grow our current commercial enterprises and look for new diversified opportunities and partnerships,”
Mr Inje said GEPL’s passionate and committed team would continue to deliver the highest level of service for their clients and the communities they work in during the transition to a new Chief Executive Officer.
