Executive Team

Steven Dhu

Chairman

Steven Dhu is a Bunjima man who was born and educated in Port Hedland.

A successful businessman with a background in mining and resources, he has a law degree from UWA.

Steven has served as Legal Counsel for the Pilbara Aboriginal Corporation and was a former Chairman of the Gumala Aboriginal Corporation.

Ailsa Roy

Ailsa Roy represents the Nyiyaparli language group and is a passionate advocate for Aboriginal people.

A registered nurse, she has a long association with GEPL and was a former Director of the Gumala Aboriginal Corporation.

Ailsa has specific expertise in Australian Native Title claims.

Aaron Martin

Aaron Martin is a former Director of Gumala Aboriginal Corporation and the current Chairman of Minadhu Aboriginal Corporation. Dedicated to bettering the lives of Indigenous people living in the Pilbara, he is Language Coordinator for IBN, a charitable business which operates for the advancement and prosperity of the Yinhawangka, Banyjima and Nyiyaparli people.  Aaron also has experience working in the mining services and civil contracting sector.

Bart Boelen

Bart Boelen has an extensive background in government and the private sector with expertise in all aspects of major and complex project delivery.

A Certified Practising Portfolio Executive and Master Project Director (AIPM), he provides high level strategic advice on corporate governance, property and tourism developments, probity audits and company directorship in his role as Managing Director of B2Consulting,

Bart has previously held roles with the WA Tourism Commission, Department of Housing, Coffey Projects and MacroPlan Australia.

John Galvin

John Galvin has extensive national and international business experience particularly in the construction sector where he has held executive roles in both operational and corporate positions.

In addition to his construction-related roles, he has also run a project management consulting business and has acted in various capacities on not for profit and Alliance Boards.

John graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil). John has a Masters in Business Administration and has studied the Executive General Management program at Harvard Business School. John is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers.

Elizabeth Lee

Elizabeth Lee has over 19 years experience in the areas of corporate governance and company secretarial functions. Currently the Company Secretary for CI Resources Ltd, she has also held company secretarial positions for Phosphate Resources Limited, Macmahon Holdings Limited, Corporate Compliance Partners and Lend Lease Primelife Limited.

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Finance and Business Law from Edith Cowan University, a Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance from Governance Institute of Australia, a Graduate Diploma in Corporate governance for ASX Listed Entities and is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Peter Torre

Peter Torre is the principal of Torre Corporate, a specialised firm providing Corporate Governance Services to a range of listed public companies. 

He is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Secretary and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Peter was previously a partner of an internationally affiliated firm of Chartered Accountants working within its Corporate Services Division and was Chairman of the firm’s National Technical Committee. 

He is currently a director of ASX listed Zenith Energy Limited, VEEM Ltd, Mineral Commodities Ltd and Volt Power Group Limited.

Tim Larkin

Tim Larkin is a highly-experienced resources and energy sector professional who brings more than 35 years experience to the role of CEO. 

With a career in project development and operational management for leading companies including BHP, United Group, Leighton Contractors and Laing O’Rourke, Mr Larkin is focused on strengthening GEPL’s capabilities with an emphasis on quality service and best-practice project outcomes.

He is charged with realising the GEPL Board’s goals of diversifying the company’s commercial enterprises and taking financial, partnership and operational performance across the business to the next level.

Rob Pedulla (CPA)

General Manager Finance

Rob Pedulla is an experienced financial professional and CPA who has worked in senior positions in the construction, property, engineering and resources industry.

He oversees GEPL’s rigorous financial systems with a focus on cost efficiencies, compliance and analysis to contribute to optimum operating performance across the organisation.

Sarah Brine

Human Resources Manager

Sarah Brine has broad expertise across employee and industrial relations, human resources strategy, recruitment and workforce planning within the mining, consulting, government and non-profit sectors.

With expertise in developing superior people and culture solutions, she is developing a skilled and committed workforce aligned to GEPL’s business needs.

Justin Stephenson

Pre-Contracts Manager

Justin Stephenson has an HNC in Civil Engineering/Surveying and has worked on infrastructure and resources projects in the UK, Australia, Philippines and Hong Kong during his 25-year career.

He brings specialist knowledge in civil construction, project management, mining services and road construction to his role with GEPL.

Michael Lynch

GEPL Operations Manager

Michael Lynch has ten years’ experience in operational and project management across civil construction, earthworks and mining services.

He has a track record in driving high performance teams that deliver quality, triple bottom-line outcomes and outstanding client service.
